Dixon Community Theater’s spring 2026 production of Rodgers & Hammerstein’s Cinderella brought magic, music, and community collaboration to the Dixon Performing Arts Center from April 24 through May 3, 2026. Directed by Lydia Smith and presented through a special arrangement with Concord Theatricals, the beloved Broadway musical featured a talented cast of performers from throughout the region alongside local youth, creating a truly intergenerational theatrical experience.
The production was the result of a unique partnership between Dixon Community Theater, Dixon High School, and Dixon Unified School District, providing any students with opportunities to participate both onstage and behind the scenes through performance and apprenticeship experiences. Audiences were treated to memorable performances, beautiful costumes, imaginative sets, lively choreography, and the timeless songs of Rodgers and Hammerstein.
Featuring Taylor Quist as Ella and Alex Chaseford as Prince Topher, the production celebrated themes of kindness, hope, courage, and believing in the impossible. The House of Frankenstein, by Martin Downing, was directed by David Cripe and marked the beginning of Dixon Community Theater’s 2026 season.
