A Special Collaboration with the DCT Community & DHS/Dixon Unified School District

At Dixon Community Theater, our mission focuses on fostering community engagement by providing opportunities and education in the performing arts. To that end, we are proudly partnering with Dixon High School to bring the magic of Rodger's and Hammerstein's Cinderella to the community stage. This live theater show will cast both experienced actors and Dixon youth, thus allowing the students the rare opportunity to perform alongside talented and seasoned theatrical actors. For students who prefer to be involved with production instead of acting on stage, they will have the opportunity to apply for and possibly be granted an apprenticeship where they will learn from our experienced production leads and industry professionals, including our director, Lydia Smith.

Lydia Smith - Director

Lydia Smith is thrilled to be making her Greater Sacramento directorial debut with Dixon Community Theater! With nearly a decade of combined experience in performing, producing, and directing, Lydia has been deeply involved in various levels of community theatre in Sacramento, Los Angeles, and even Rome, Italy. Her first full-length directorial role was a university production of Agatha Christie’s The Mousetrap. She has also produced several operas (The Merry Wives of Windsor, The Barber of Seville, Rigoletto, Die Fledermaus) and recently joined The Fourth Wall Community Theatre as part of their Creative Team, focusing on community engagement through the arts. An avid performer, she has graced the stages of: Woodland Opera House, Winters Theatre Company, Davis Musical Theatre Company, and The Fourth Wall Theatre Company. Favorite roles include: Jerusha in Daddy Long Legs, Alice Heminges in The Book of Will, Jacqueline De Severac in Agatha Christie’s Murder on the Nile, Dorothy in The Wizard of Oz, Wednesday Addams in The Addams Family, Grace Farrell in Annie, Louise Bigelow in Carousel, Tuptim in The King and I, Agnes Smith in Meet Me in St. Louis, Barbara Amory in Agatha Christie’s Black Coffee, and Mademoiselle Silverpeal in Mozart’s opera Der Schauspieldirektor (The Impresario). In March 2026, she will portray Margaret “Mags” Church in Painting Churches at The Fourth Wall Theatre Company, directed by Cheryl Watson. Lydia is excited to bring the “impossible” magic of Cinderella to life in Dixon and looks forward to working with a talented, fun, and whimsical cast! For more information about auditions or to join the production team, reach out to her on Instagram @arapidimagination or email lydiasmith0925@gmail.com.

ANNIE RYLE - STAGE MANAGER

Annie Ryle is excited to be stage managing Cinderella at Dixon Community Theatre and looks forward to working with many new faces. Annie has been involved in theatre for many years, beginning backstage while supporting her sister’s early experiences in children’s theatre. As her sister grew, Annie’s involvement grew as well, taking on increasing responsibilities behind the scenes. At the community theatre level, Annie has assisted with stage management at Davis Community Theatre and has also appeared onstage in several productions, though she has found a true love for backstage work. Annie is thrilled to be stepping into the role of Stage Manager for this production and enjoys collaborating with creative teams to bring this show to life. Outside of theatre, Annie is a full-time caregiver for her sister, nephew, and nieces, and is a proud dog mom to her Boston Terrier, Izzy.
