It Takes a Community to Have a Community Theater
There’s something very special about community theater. It’s the physical manifestation of the cultural landscape of a community—a place where stories are shared, creativity is nurtured, and neighbors come together to celebrate the arts. On that stage, generations connect, local talent shines, and the spirit of a community is brought to life through music, laughter, and storytelling. Theater provides a space for exploration, education, and for new experiences. For some it's a hobby, for others, a career, but for us it's a mission. Make A Donation
Dixon Community Theater is a registered 501(c)3 nonprofit, volunteer run organization. This means that every dollar we receive goes back into our community programs and productions, not to salaries or compensation. And as an added benefit your donation is tax deductible. Consider making a donation to Dixon Community Theater and support us in keeping the magic of the performing arts alive in our community.
Advertise in Our Show Programs
We offer advertising space in our show programs to businesses for extremely affordable rates. With our ever-growing customer base, our programs offer businesses the opportunity to show their support for our organization, and have their advertisement seen by every individual who sees one of our shows.
Sponsor A Show
Show sponsors are an essential part of theater. They help bring specific shows to the stage and often are a part of preseason planning. Royalties and licensing are extremely expensive with many shows costing between three to five thousand dollars in licensing costs alone. These astronomical costs make many shows financially impossible for smaller theaters to afford to perform. Sponsors help bridge the monetary gap by donating some or all (known as underwriting) of the costs associated with a specific production.

Join Our Board
Dixon Community Theater is always looking for production assistance for our events and shows. We are currently in need of lighting designers and operators as well as individuals for other various production positions. If you are interested in helping out or joining our production team we would love to hear from you! DCT always needs creative and talented people.

Do you love the performing arts? Do you have a passion for our community? Do you want to be a part of the driving team of Dixon Community Theater? We are currently seeking to fill two director positions on our board. Applicants must be able to pass a background check and be willing to attend monthly board meetings.

There are so many ways people can volunteer with DCT. From community outreach events, to production assistance, to ushering or helping out with concessions at shows, there are a multitude of jobs that have to be done to keep our organization running smoothly.
